Dear NCTC Members,

Newmarket's very own Liam Draxl has received a wild card into the Qualifiers at the 2023 National Bank Open in Toronto. He will be playing this Saturday August 5th (time to be announced on Friday).  Come down to cheer him on! 

We are so proud of all his accomplishments so far.

Liam’s next goal is to reach the top 100 ATP. This will allow him to compete in the top-tier ATP tournaments where prize money and sponsorships offer financial stability.

As we know, professional tennis is a very cost prohibitive venture particularly in the initial stages. Prize money earned at the Futures and Challenger level tournaments (the entry into professional tennis) are erased quickly with coaching fees, physio fees and travel expenses.

The Newmarket Community Tennis Club has created a GoFundMe account for anyone wishing to help Liam achieve his dream.
