2023 House League Tryouts: 

TRYOUTS FOR NEW PLAYERS: Wednesday May 3rd and Wednesday May 10th at 7pm.

TRYOUTS FOR ALL PLAYERS: Wednesday May 17th at 7pm.


The fee for the 2023 House League season is $40 per player

Monday League ("C" Intermediate Players)

Wednesday League ("A" Advanced & "B" Intermediate-Advanced Players)

7:00pm and 8:30pm


The Adult House League on Monday consists of 2 mixed doubles teams. The Adult House League on Wednesday is made up of 6 mixed doubles teams. All teams play scheduled matches on their corresponding days beginning in late May until the end of August. 


Players must sign up during membership registration to ensure participation. The players will be divided into three categories representing "A" for Advanced and "B" for Intermediate-Advanced who will play on Wednesday night. Players assigned "C" for Intermediate players will play on Monday night.

THE SCHEDULE

The scheduling code and player names will be on your team rosters and the code on the playing schedule. Our scheduling code is M1 to M18 for men and L1 to L12 for ladies.The Ladies matches are at 7:00. There will be 2 ladies matches and 1 mixed each week.  The Men matches are at 8:30 and the mixed matches will be at 7:00. We suggest you use a hi-liter for your personal schedule to ensure you know all the dates and times of all your matches. Each player will be OFF a minimum of 2 weeks. If you are unable to play, please contact the players who are off that week to replace you. All other issues please contact your team Captain for advice.


TIMES OF PLAY

The 90 minute Monday matches start at 7:00 and 8:30. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. A whistle is blown after 10 minutes to start matches. At the conclusion of scheduled playing time, a whistle is blown to end the game. Play must stop at the whistle. After recording your scores, please don't leave until all of your team players arrive for next match. You may be requested to play a 2nd match on same evening.


RULES

The format is the best two out of three sets. Games are played out in full and must be won by 2 points.   If a set reaches six games-all, a 7 point tie-break is played to decide the set.

AND if third set is not completed, record the scored reached.


TEAM SCORES  

Teams are awarded one point for each set won. In the case of a 2 sets to 1 set result, the  winning team receives two point and the losing team would earn one point. In the event of the deciding set not completed, the team leading in games get credit for winning the set. If games are tied, or if tie break is not completed,  the match is declared a tie and each team received a ½ point.


SUBSTITUTIONS                                                   

Email will be our primary communication to each of you requesting any dates you cannot play. YOUR responsibility to contact team members for replacement.  Contact your team captain for all other issues.

The mid-season break…On Monday July 25 and Aug 1 , there will be NO scheduled matches.  Courts will be available for informal drop-ins. Set up your own matches.   


N.C.T.C. WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOUSE LEAGUE RULES 



THE SCHEDULE

Players are selected to play in the category suited to their level, based on the best information available. The players are divided into two categories: "A" Advanced and "B" Intermediate-advanced.

The scheduling code and player names will be on your team rosters and the matching code on the playing schedule.

Our scheduling code is M for men or L for lady, then Category A, B and then players number from 1 to 5.


Examples    LB1 is Lady, Category B, player 1

                 MA2 is Man, Category A, player 2


We suggest you use a hi-liter for your personal schedule to ensure you know all the dates and times of all your matches. Ask your team captain if you have any questions regarding rules or the schedule.

During the season, roster changes will be highlighted in BOLD on clubhouse billboard. Please use this information to update your personal rosters.

The House league will only work if all the members participate. Your playing schedule is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to fulfill. Go thru your schedule and arrange with your teammates for replacements as required. Let your captain know of any extended absences. Using your team roster, the preferred substitution order is shown below. Replacement should be same sex to maintain balanced schedule.

Don't be a NO-SHOW.  Everyone hates a defaulted match. Whenever possible, play a 2nd match to avoid a team default and to ensure everyone gets to play. Rainouts will not be re-scheduled. All completed 90 minutes matches prior to rainout will be counted, provided all courts have completed matches. AND playoff details will be provided later in the season. LAST MINUTE  call clubhouse 905-853-6150

 

The mid- season break…… 

Wednesday's July 27 and Aug 3, there will be NO scheduled matches. There will be a SIGN-UP sheet on these dates.  Courts are reserved for House league members to set up their own 90 minute matches and book with clubhouse staff.  Set up your games with your favorites people and book it with clubhouse staff after July 14th. Matches will be same times as Wednesday regular schedule. 6:30, 8:00 and 9:30.
