Please Note: You must be a registered member of the NCTC to sign up for Adult & Junior Lessons

(Mini-Tennis does not require membership).

 

Adults $120

Junior $100

Mini-Tennis $100 (ages 4-7 years old)

Fees are for 8 x 1 hour group lessons


Adult & Junior lessons are available at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. All group lessons are 1 hour sessions for 8 weeks. The first 8-week session starts the week of May 8, 2023. The second 8-week session will start the week of July 17th, 2023.  Sign up for lessons are done on a first come, first served basis. Spots are limited. It is recommended that you complete your membership registration in advance of lesson registration becoming available.


Mini Tennis

Mini tennis Lessons for 4 to 7 year-olds (no fee for membership). These lessons are designed specifically for young children. They will be using lightweight junior racquets and mini-nets. The emphasis is on learning with a smile, building self-esteem and developing co-ordination skills. See the 2023 lesson schedule below for days & times.

    Knowledge -Strong grasp of the technique for each shot, and knows when to use each stroke in a rally or point.  Understands terminology such as cross court, down the line, baseline, service line, approach shot, ground stroke etc.

    Skill -Can maintain a controlled rally of 5+ balls back and forth from baseline.  Able to transition/approach to the net from a baseline rally and execute a volley on balls hit directly to you.  Can serve with consistency. 

    Competing -Can play a regulation match with proper scoring, positioning, switching ends etc. with minimal assistance 


    Class size is limited to 8 students.

    Knowledge - A very basic understanding of the fundamental strokes (forehands, backhands, volleys, over heads, serves)

    Skill - Hand eye coordination to bounce the ball on the racquet to self on the spot a few times.  Can make contact and hit the ball over the net often if dropped beside you or hit directly to you

    Competing - Basic understanding of the scoring system, but no match experience required

    Mini Tennis is designed for children ages 4-7 who have had no prior exposure to the sport.  The program incorporates larger and softer tennis balls, smaller nets, and appropriate sized racquets.  Racquets are available to borrow for the class, but must be returned at the end of the hour.  


    Class size is limited to 8 students.
